Two tools for the moment
before you share something.
Both run on your own device. No account, no sign-up, no fee — and no file ever leaves your computer to reach us.
MetaSafe
METADATA CLEANERA photo or document carries more than what you see: camera model, author name, and often the GPS coordinates of where it was taken. MetaSafe shows you that hidden data and removes it before the file goes anywhere.
- JPEG, PNG, WebP, HEIC, TIFF, SVG, GIF, PDF, Office, audio, video
- Shows every field it finds, including GPS, with a risk level
- Clean, redact, or remove — then download the fixed file
- Also cleans tracking parameters from links
USAFE
INTERNET FREEDOM & PRIVACY TOOLKITThree checks in one place: is a site being blocked or filtered on your connection, what is following you as you browse, and how to send something that cannot be read in transit.
- Censorship check: DNS and reachability tests, with sources shown
- Surveillance check: tracker and fingerprint exposure
- Secure comms: local encryption, no account
Exactly what each one sends, so you do not have to guess.
MetaSafe never sends anything. The file is read and rewritten in your browser tab; the "0 network requests" indicator on the page reflects that.
USAFE is a measuring instrument, so parts of it must look outward: the censorship check queries public DNS resolvers and tries to reach the sites you ask about, and the surveillance check inspects what your browser already reveals. Those requests go to those services, not to us — we keep no server that receives them. The secure-messaging tool is entirely local.
Both are free to use and their source is open. Neither of them requires a wallet, and neither is a way to buy anything.
